“The Voice of God”
That was how powerful and authoritative Bob Trumpy's voice was; he received this nickname.
After a ten-year career with the Cincinnati Bengals, Trumpy began a sports talk show in Southern Ohio, at a time when it had yet to be proven a successful format. Trumpy not only thrived in the role, but he is also credited for pioneering sports talk radio and spawning hundreds of shows.
Trumpy was hired by NBC in 1978 and stayed with the network for 20 years, calling not only football but also golf and the Olympics.
We are proud to nominate Bob Trumpy for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
