Equally at home in the broadcast booth or in the studio, Mike Tirico makes everything look easy, but when you prepare as hard as he does, that is the intended result.
“Big Event Mike” was a fixture on ABC/ESPN’s basketball and football broadcasts and made history as the first face shown on ESPNNews. While he received many prime gigs, Tirico ended his run with the Disney conglomerate by joining NBC Sports in 2016.
The jump to NBC has proved fruitful for Tirico, who has hosted most of the network’s prime sporting events and is the heir apparent to both Al Michaels and Bob Costas. Tirico is so highly regarded by his employer that, right after he worked the Super Bowl, he was on a plane to host the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.
We are proud to nominate Mike Tirico for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
