The son of former pitcher and broadcaster Ernie Johnson, Ernie Johnson Jr, rose to prominence calling Atlanta Braves games with his father.
In 1990, Johnson left for Turner Sports, where he became the host of NBA on TNT and is the master of ceremonies for basketball’s biggest personalities. Known for his authenticity and humility, Johnson is the steady hand that rights a ship perfectly regardless of the deckhands.
While he is best known for his work covering the NBA, he has also hosted MLB games, March Madness, two Olympic Games, Wimbledon, the NFL, and the World Cup.
We are proud to nominate Ernie Johnson Jr. for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
