After a 14-year career with the Denver Broncos, former Linebacker Tom Jackson joined Chris Berman as the hosts of Sunday NFL Countdown and NFL Primetime, and Jackson, like Irv Cross before him, paved the way for black studio hosts in sports.

While Jackson was outspoken on occasion, he quickly became one of the most trusted voices in football, both as a player and for the analytic depth with which he covered the sport.

Jackson left ESPN in 2016 after 29 years of educating the masses on the gridiron game.
