    • Dick Button is the most important man in figure skating.

      Period.

      A two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and trailblazer in pushing the sport’s athletic boundaries, he would do the same behind the booth and as a producer of skating events.

      Button first called figure skating at the 1960 Olympics, and for over 40 years after, it was his calm and honest voice that served as the backdrop for the most artistic sport in the world. There is no one who has elevated any sport, both as a participant and a commentator, more than Dick Button…and think what ground that covers!

      We are proud to nominate Dick Button for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
