Ron Wolf won two Super Bowls as a scout with the Oakland Raiders, but he had far greater success when he finally made it to the position of general manager with the Green Bay Packers.
Wolf was Green Bay’s general manager from 1991 to 2000, and he brought back a winning culture to the Packers. His signing of free agent, Reggie White, made Green Bay a viable destination for elite stars, and his hiring of Mike Holmgren, and trading for an unknown quarterback (Brett Favre). Green Bay went to straight Super Bowls in the 1990s, winning the first (XXXI), and this success does not happen without Ron Wolf.
We are proud to nominate Ron Wolf for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
