Member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame
The National Football League grew exponentially under Pete Rozelle. Under his replacement, Paul Tagliabue, the NFL became the most prominent sports league in North America.
It wasn't just the growth to 32 teams. League revenue skyrocketed, television ratings jumped, and cohesive labor peace was achieved. The NFL became must-watch sports television under Tagliabue, and arguably his 17 years (1989-2006) as the NFL commissioner is among the most successful in sports.
We are proud to nominate Paul Tagliabue for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
