Tim Nugent founded the first program of higher education for individuals with disabilities in 1948. Known as the "Father of Accessibility," Nugent did not just work with schools, as he created the National Wheelchair Basketball Association in 1949, where he served as its first commissioner for 25 years.
Nugent's work led to a new world of accessible athletics.
