It would be fun to debate who is the most successful WNBA player of all time, but as for the greatest WNBA Coach ever, there is no debate.
It is Cheryl Reave.
A College Coach at Indiana State, Reave was an Assistant Coach for years in the WNBA and contributed to two WNBA Titles with the Detroit Shock. Proving that she could lead a team of her own, the Minnesota Lynx in 2010, and what Reave has accomplished since has been extraordinary.
Reave took the Lynx to four WNBA Championships and has been to seven Finals in total. Nobody has more WNBA wins than Reave, and nobody has more WNBA Coach of the Year Awards (4) than she does.
Reave also serves as Minnesota’s General Manager, a role she landed in 2017. Notably, she has won two WNBA Executive of the Year Awards.
We are proud to nominate Cheryl Reave for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
