With his signature moustache and kind exterior, Andy Reid was hired by Mike Holmgren as an Assistant with the Green Bay Packers, where he would win his first Super Bowl. With his profile rising, he impressed the brass of the Philadelphia Eagles to win the head coaching gig in what proved to be controversial at the time. It didn't take long for the Philadelphia fans to fall for Reid.
In the 13 seasons that Reid coached the Eagles, they made the playoffs nine times, including four consecutive appearances in the NFC Championship Games, the fourth of which brought Philly to the Super Bowl, though they fell to Pittsburgh. Reid then joined the Kansas City Chiefs as their Head Coach in 2013, where what he has accomplished is nothing short of legendary.
Reid, who, as of this writing, remains KC’s Head Coach, has led the Chiefs to five Super Bowls, winning three of them. His combination with Patrick Mahomes evokes the vibes of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, and we're not close to being done yet.
We are proud to nominate Andy Reid for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
