  • Arguably the finest men’s tennis player of the 1990s, Pete Sampras was a 14-time Grand Slam winner boasting seven Wimbledon and five U.S. Open wins. “Pistol Pete” was so dominant that he held the #1 year-end ranking six years in a row (1993-98) and was ranked number one for 286 weeks in a row. Technically speaking, tennis pundits regard Sampras as the best serve and volley player, and he was also a six-time ATP Player of the Year.

We are proud to nominate Pete Sampras for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
