A rebounding champion and All-American at Seattle University, Elgin Baylor was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers (later Los Angeles), where he played the entirety of his 14-year career.
An 11-time All-Star, Baylor was named a First Team All-NBA player in ten seasons. Baylor was one of the most complete players in basketball history and was one of the first to use his vertical jumping ability to stand out. His style was the blueprint of the modern NBA athlete, moving the league from cold mechanics to a flashy substance.
We are proud to nominate Elgin Baylor for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
