  • Mickey Wright was one of the most successful golfers of all-time, winning 82 Tournaments on the LPGA, placing her second all-time behind Kathy Whitworth.

Wright won the World Amateur Title in 1954 and turned pro immediately after, ready to ascend to the top. Wright won 13 Majors, second only to Patty Berg, who won 15.

Wright could have potentially won more titles, but feet problems caused her to retire at the young age of 34. As of this writing, Wight is still the only LPGA player to hold all four major titles simultaneously.

We are proud to nominate Mickey Wright for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
