  • In 1960 and 1964, Ed Temple was the head coach of the United States Olympic track and field team that netted 23 medals, an incredible haul.

    Temple coached collegiately at Tennessee State for 43 years, where 40 future Olympians came under his tutelage. His team would win 36 national titles. Temple was also a member of the U.S. Olympic Council and the International Women's Track and Field Committee.
