    • In 1977, Earl Campbell's dominance in college football was unparalleled. His Heisman Trophy win was a testament to his exceptional skills. It was no surprise that he was drafted first overall and went on to dominate the NFL, a trend that continued throughout his career.

Taken by the Houston Oilers in the draft, the Running Back was the first player to win three Offensive Player of the Year Awards (1978-80) and was the 1979 league MVP. The powerful back was arguably the best athlete in the National Football League for three years and remains one of the game’s most dynamic offensive players.

We are proud to nominate Earl Campbell for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
